Assante served for six years in Washington, DC as director of member relations for the National Association for Surface Finishing (NASF), where he was responsible for projects including overall business development, membership recruitment and retention, and chapter management. At the trade association, he led national strategy to engage, grow, and retain membership at the chapter level with a solutions-driven, collaborative style.
Previously, Assante honed his management and customer service skills working for two decades at one of the world’s largest insurance companies, GEICO, where he led a unit that handled major catastrophic claims as well as all litigation, controlling reserves of tens of millions of dollars. Assante was recognized by GEICO senior management for his leadership skills.
Assante earned a bachelor’s degree from Marist College in upstate New York. He took up tournament fishing and became a fan of spring training baseball games during his years in Florida. He’s originally from Queens, NY and remains loyal to the Giants, Yankees, Rangers, and Knicks. Most of all, he loves spending time with his four children.
