Mieko Kusano

Mieko Kusano is senior director, design at Sonos, where she has led the design of all products since inception. Her goal is to make products that integrate entertainment, technology and design into intuitive yet expressive solutions, re-inventing audio for the digital age.

Prior to Sonos, she led product management at Invention Machine, where she migrated the product offering to a cloud-based solution, focused on innovation management.

Kusano started her career at Philips, where she had the opportunity to transform her graduation project into a real product: alongside a talented group of designers and innovators, she helped create a portable communication device for children. Later, she became design director at Philips Design, where she specialized in leading design teams in the creation of new experiences for multimedia and portable computing platforms.

Kusano graduated Cum Laude from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, with a master's degree in industrial design. She has received several design awards for her team’s work and was featured in "The 100 Most Creative People in Business" by Fast Company in 2010.
