Pensa is a full service design consultancy specializing in product strategy, design and engineering. We bring our clients closer to their customers by understanding people, the products they use and the context in which they use them. It’s not just what we do, it’s what we love to do.
Our process is about the essentials done right. We learn about the consumers’ desires, observe their actual behaviors and determine their unmet needs. Through this approach, we discover opportunities that we then develop into products with clear and meaningful benefits. All along, we never forget the details. We engineer our customers’ products while keeping in mind their price point, schedule and manufacturing capabilities.
Our experience spans a broad range of industries including housewares, home healthcare products, medical devices, hardware tools, childcare products, and office furniture and consumer package goods. Pensa was founded in 2005, born out of love and determination to improve quality of life through better products and experiences. Marco Perry, Kathy Larchian and Mark Prommel lead Pensa’s creative team.
Nanit is the world’s smartest baby monitor. It provides parents with unparalleled insight into their child’s sleep patterns and habits. We designed Nanit to be an elegant addition to a nursery. It’s smooth, seamless and flowing form floats quietly above the crib. Nanit incorporates a soft, functional light that glows through it’s top surface so that it won’t disturb a sleeping baby. In addition, Nanit’s stand was designed for incredibly easy set up and to the highest safety standards.
OneBlade is the result of more than a year of design and invention, and it is the best shaving experience a man can have. From the moment the package is opened, the product conveys luxury. It feels solid and balanced in the hand. The razor and its stand are solid stainless steel. The head geometry is an open framework, designed to be easy to rinse and maintain. OneBlade uses a single-edged Japanese blade, made by the finest shaving blade maker in the world. The loading and unloading of this blade was a carefully considered user experience: the blade is slipped into an opening in the rear of the razor head and snaps into place with an audible click. The open handle design allows for a substantial handle volume while still maintaining a proper weight and balance. In addition, the OneBlade razor has a unique suspension and head geometry that provides safety and comfort to complement an incredibly sharp and pure blade edge.
