IDSA-OHS DAAP Works 2016 - Tues, April 26-30, 2016 @ 6:00pm

April 26th thru the 30th is DAAP works!  IDSA’s professional night will be April 28th from 6-8 pm.  This is a great opportunity to socialize with fellow professionals, the students, and exclusively view the students’ capstone projects!
 

IDSA-CHI - Reid Schlegel Lecture

Reid Schlegel, Industrial Designer at Frog in New York, will lecture on how to make the transition from student to real-world designer, followed by a sketch workshop demonstrating techniques that have made him Instagram-famous.

This may be circumventing a software quirk, enhancing collaboration within your team, or communicating the impact of design to other stakeholders in your business.

Design West Michigan - Thurs, March 24, 2016 @ 6:00pm

Join us to hear from Marty on why Design Thinking is important to Google and how they use it.  Marty will be joined by GVSU student Jonathan Cook who interned at Google last semester.

Marty is a design lead at Google who has been designing user experiences for almost twenty years.  He was the design lead for Google Wallet, Google Sheets, and is now working with the Google Cloud team to design new developer platforms.  Before working at Google, Marty worked at IBM designing collaboration tools for enterprise workers.

IDSA-STL - The 2016 IDSA-STL 6th Annual Student Design Competition with SLSC - Thurs, March 10, 2016 @ 6:30pm

You are invited to join us at Fred Sparks to brainstorm topics for our Fall 2016 6th Annual Student Design Competition and once again in partnership with our friends at the Saint Louis Science Center. The Science Center will have on display an extensive Agriculture exhibit at the time of this competition and request that the theme be related to Agriculture. The competition is scheduled to take place on October 15th, 2016 at the Science Center within Boeing Hall.
