Desktop injection molding machines and stereolithographic printed molds make hands-on injection molding production possible in design studio classrooms and labs. Direct experience designing molds and parts for injection molding and producing the molds and parts is valuable, relevant experience for design students. This case study describes equipment, materials, projects and beneficial learning outcomes using in-studio injection molding in a university design studio class.
