Danny graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Industrial Design from the University of Cincinnati in 2002 as the program’s Outstanding Senior. He joined RedGroup Product development in Minneapolis and spent a decade as a lead designer, working across industries with a primary focus in medical devices.
In 2012, Danny joined the Cardiac Rhythm business at Medtronic in a Human Factors role, bringing a robust use of human-centered design to the group. In 2015 he started a corporate design and innovation consulting practice, working across Medtronic using HCD as a front-end tool to explore user needs and creative solutioning.
While he continues to deliver on selected projects, he also works on various initiatives to deepen design and human-centric practices at the enterprise level with support from executive leadership. An inventor on over 20 patents in several different products across medical devices, he has won multiple awards in the industry and became a Medtronic Technical Fellow in 2019. At the end of 2020, he was promoted to Distinguished Designer, becoming the first designer at Medtronic to achieve this title.
