Dana Morales, IDSA

Principal Industrial Designer, Kohler Co. With a focus on designing objects that tell a story, and finding inspiration at the intersection between art, design and craft, Dana is driven by the emotional connection between meaningful objects and users. Dana has been designing surfaces and decorative fixtures for the pluming/sanitary industry, as well as CMF solutions for Kohler’s portfolio, for over 13 years. Always inspired by the unlimited possibilities of ceramics, she has also designed tableware products for Lenox and bespoke tiles for Artistic Tile. Besides her professional practice, Dana has shared her design experience with artisans in her home country of Colombia and has lead design camps for artisans and small producers from Peru, Ecuador, Chile and Bangladesh. She believes designers should assume the responsibility of making a difference through responsible design and become instruments for social change. Dana holds a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from the State University of New York, New Paltz, and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from the National University of Colombia.
