IDEA Winners Revealed at the IDEA Ceremony and Gala

 

Gold, Silver and Bronze International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) winners from around the world attended the IDEA Ceremony on Sept. 19 at the beautiful National WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA. Awardees and International Design Conference (IDC) goers dressed to impress and waited with anticipation as the winners of each category and the special awards were revealed.

IDEA 2018 Jurors Convene in Dearborn

 

In its 38th year, the International Design Excellence Awards once again found the best design work of the past year. The esteemed IDEA jury, led by Whirlpool's Sr. Design Manager Michael Kahwaji, IDSA, combed through over 840 finalists to select nearly 150 winning entries. This year IDEA saw a record number of more than 1,870 entries in the first round.

IDEA Trophy Fabrication

 

Our fabrication partners are ramping up production of the newly re-designed IDEA trophies. Last year, the International Design Excellence Awards program underwent a significant rebranding at the talented hands of fuseproject. Their work helped breathe new life into the 38-year-old awards program and reaffirmed IDEA's position as one of the most sought-after design awards in the world.

 

Spreading the Word

An IDEA 2018 juror and former IDEA winner who's marking 20 years as a professional designer, is spreading the word about industrial design. "What motivates me to inspire and teach the next generation is the debt I owe to the generation before me," says Michael DiTullo, founder and chief creative of Michael DiTullo LLC in Leucadia, CA.
