The designers of this woodworking machine for both a shop environment and home use left no detail unresolved. An innovation in the product design allows the upper portion of the planer to move up and down without being housed inside a fixed top and sides, resulting in a much more compact unit that gives the user wide open access to blades when changing. This also allowed more planers per container when shipping from the manufacturer.
- All the controls are on the face of the machine and are easier to read.
- Two upper and two lower carry handles have generous, comfortable cross sections that spread the load across the user's palm.
"Every detail of this planner visually communicates its function in a very accessible manner. The design team made significant advances in ease of use and at the same time pulled a wide range of complex criteria together into a design composition that is at once handsome and rugged." - Monty Montague, IDSA, Design Principal, BOLT
