The IDSA Philadelphia chapter was formed in 1976. The chapter includes members from Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware who specialize in a variety of different fields, including consumer products, furniture, lighting, exhibits, transportation, and medical equipment. Additionally, Philadelphia has four major universities offering degrees in industrial design or product development: Thomas Jefferson University, Drexel University, University of the Arts, and The University of Pennsylvania (the IPD graduate program).
One of the chapter's main activities is the mentorship program for students and professional designers in the region. They also hold events throughout the year, and consistently have a showing at the Design Philadelphia showcase in mid-October. For more information, please reach out to the chapter officers or contact IDSA headquarters (Community Manager Korie Twiggs at firstname.lastname@example.org) or by calling 703.707.6000 x127.
