Chapter Programs
Seminars and discussions can be built around distinguished senior designers discussing designs or design practices in the past, to honor their local
"survivors." Distinguished seniors can be invited to make presentations of their important designs and careers, participate in discussion groups,
or be interviewed using the Living History Questionnaire.
Audio or video tapes of these events can be submitted to Syracuse University Library. Please notify this Section if you submit materials directly to Syracuse Library, so we can list your materials on this web-site. Chapters can also establish archives of distinguished designers from their own Chapter. Take the Design History lead in your Chapter!
Your Autobiography
Distinguished senior designers are encouraged to write their own detailed autobiographies for archiving in Syracuse University Library industrial
design collections, or for possible selection for publication by IDSA in Innovation or on web sites. Identify yourself as an IDSA member and send directly. Please notify this Section if you submit materials directly to archival organizations, so we can list your materials on this web site.
Personal Records
Distinguished Senior designers are urged to donate their personal career records and work to an archival organization of their choice. See the Archives section of this web site for suggestions. Such donations are tax deductible. Please notify this Section if you submit materials directly to archival organizations, so we can list your materials on this web site.
Business Records
Corporations and design consultants are urged to contribute their business records and work to archival organizations of their choice (see Archives). Please notify this Section if you submit materials directly to archival organizations, so we can list your materials on this web site.
Membership, Design History Section
If you are a member of IDSA, you may join the Design History Section by accessing the "Members Only Search" feature on www.idsa.org and indicating your interest on your interactive personal record sheet. Use this same process to discontinue membership in the Section, or to change your postal or e-mail address.
