1969 Pedro Ramirez-Vasquez
At its annual meeting in Washington, DC, IDSA honored Mr. Vasquez "for Excellence in Design." Mr. Ramirez-Vasquez, was the world-famous architect of the Mexican National Museum of Anthropology, in Mexico City, completed in 1964-- an award-winning design with exhibit halls arranged chronologically around a vast central courtyard.

As a result of this award and many other contacts in Mexico, IDSA developed a close relationship with the Mexican design community that culminated in IDSA's annual meeting held in Mexico City in 1972.
