1998 Donald Dohner
(1897-1943)
At its annual conference in San Diego, California, IDSA honored Mr. Dohner
posthumously as an industrial design pioneer practitioner and educator.
He headed design at Westinghouse in 1929, and in 1934 established the
first degree-granting program for industrial design at Carnegie Institute
of Technology. In 1935 he created a similar program at Pratt Institute.
