1978 Raymond Loewy FIDSA (1893-1986)
At its annual conference in Asilomar, CA, IDSA honored Mr. Loewy "for his personal and ongoing contributions to the industrial design profession." A pioneer and probably the most widely known US industrial designer, Loewy was one of the 15 practitioner-founders of the Society of Industrial Designers (SID) in 1944.
