1969 John Vassos, FIDSA (1893-1985)
At its annual conference in Washington, DC, Mr. Vassos was honored "for significant contribution to the profession of industrial design." Vassos was the first Board Chairman of IDSA at its formation in 1965. He pioneered organized design as the first president of the American Designers Institute, one of IDSA's predecessors, in 1938.
