Fred Shockey, IDSA, is a seasoned plastics industry expert, with more than two decades of experience in plastics engineering, processing and material development. The northeast Ohio native's family has been in the polymer industry for 100+ years.
Shockey earned a master's degree in polymer engineering from The University of Akron and spent several years moving up the corporate ladder with global organizations. At Figgie, International he was a member of the consulting team for mergers and acquisitions. At Newell Rubbermaid, his work as a process engineer saved the company millions in resin costs. As a senior marketing technical service representative for Advanced Elastomer Systems, Shockey solved a variety of injection molding problems and performed a critical customer support role responding to technical Q&As in the answer forum.
In 1995, Shockey launched a private label distribution company, IURINC and provided color solutions in a wide variety of processing environments and applications.In 2009, Shockey founded Winsell to express his objective of partnering with customers to "find ways to win." He spotted an underserved gap in the market: granite colorants. Today, Winsell specializes in innovation and improvement of the granite-effect colorants for plastic rotational molding.
