A Design Thinker applying design principles as a high-level methodology of rigor across industries to create objects and tools of greater purpose.
With over 4 years of experience working as a Product Designer/Researcher across India and United States, I have pushed the status quo in projects across houseware, lighting, furniture, toys, craft-development initiatives, leather, fashion-accessories, service, and education industries. I worked in a Product Design capacity for a company in India, Happily Unmarried, where I was responsible for researching & launching a path-breaking & award-winning culture-centric collection that still is on their bestsellers list online and in-stores since 2007. After a combined graduate degree in Industrial Design & Design Management, I currently serve my systemic problem solving skills in the International Development field as an Information Designer towards complex global challenges. I execute creative and succinct solutions for projects funded by US federal agencies and government donors like USAID, DOS, USDA including corporate publication material spanning infographics, tools and data visualizations that address gaps and foster learning as a pioneering effort in this field through a Human Centered approach. As a product of my Thesis, Transcultural Objects, I have researched tested an energy saving & biodegradable ceramic water purifier, Sär tested and approved by U.S. state water municipalities. Patent Pending. I hold a Masters in Fine Arts in Industrial Design from Savannah College of Art & Design and Bachelors in Product Design from National Institute of Fashion Technology.
