Andrew Hartman is the Director of Business Development at Design Partners Ltd.
He is responsible for nurturing new creative capabilities in the firm and using them to help clients increase business effectiveness and deliver value through great product experiences. His role at DP is to make sure the firm stays vibrant and that DP clients continue to delight their customers.
Prior to Design Partners, Andrew has led design teams throughout Europe, Asia and the USA over a 20+ year career at Philips Design. As a designer, Andrew has always gravitated towards the front edge of innovation having designed some of the first consumer mobile phones, navigation systems, mobile computing devices and Flat TVs. As a design leader he has developed many tools and methodologies to anticipate emerging contexts and to develop new business models to address them.
Next to Philips Design and Design Partners, Andrew has been instructing students for 7 years in Experience Design courses at the Design Academy, Eindhoven (voted one of the five most influential design entities in the world).
Currently, Andrew’s main focus is on finding the right way to leverage design’s added value in complex organizations using its ability to articulate a vision, inspire leadership and specialists and to define actionable steps in the short term towards a long term goal.

Andrew currently serves as Director-At-Large on the Board of Directors of the IDSA.
He also speaks regularly at congresses and seminars about the value of design and is active in promoting the global design community.
Andrew holds a B.E.D. in product design from NC State University and postgraduate certification from Domus Academy in Milan, Italy.
