Jason Belaire has over 20 years of experience as an industrial designer, product developer + manager, and product photographer for high-profile global clients in the outdoor industry. His specialties include industrial design services, product management, graphic design, packaging design, product management and lifestyle photography. He has designed, managed, and led national and international product development efforts for innovative and award-winning kids products, travel gear, sleeping bags, backpacks, tents, outdoor furniture and lighting.
Belaire has designed, developed, and led product management efforts for outdoor product lines produced by Columbia, Swiss Gear Outdoor Camping, Zen Postures, GoLite, Nature’s Lodge, 5 Horizon’s, Cotopaxi, Lafuma Groupe, BlueBird, Sierra Designs, Ultimate Direction, Kelty, Slumberjack, Wenger Swiss Army, Mountainsmith, Browning Camping and Cabela's. Products he has designed have won Backpacker Magazine Editors’ Choice Awards, Camping Life Editors’ Choice Awards, Explore Magazine’s Best Gear Awards, and Urban Climber Gear Guide Awards. The Kelty Kids Carrier 3.0 backpack he designed was profiled on the TODAY Show.
One of Belaire's strongest skills is his ability to serve as a liaison between consumer product corporate managers and directors down to the factory and production staff. He is particularly attuned to customer needs and requirements, and he has gained a strong reputation in the global outdoor industry for his ability to successfully communicate those requirements to diverse corporate and factory production audiences.To support his design and development efforts, Jason travels internationally extensively. He has worked collaboratively with product development teams throughout the United States, China and Europe.

Student Chair, Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Industrial Designers Society of America. 2005-2006. As a returning student to complete my ID degree. I became current on design student issues and grew the student participation by reaching out and utilizing creative measures to involve the local design community with in the chapter.

Co-Created “Peter Terbush Memorial Outdoor Leadership Summit” at Western State Colorado University - Gunnison Colorado. A flagship course offered every year where Jason has been featured as a either a presenter and or participant. This highly technical course is offered through the Wilderness Pursuits program at WSCU. The Summit is designed as a skills and servant leadership-based course for collegiate outdoor program leaders.
Member, Program Advisory Committee (PAC) at the Art Institute of Denver - Colorado. A very important component of curriculum review; PAC consists of an external panel of industry experts and professionals that help review each degree program to evaluate curriculum, technology and expected program competencies.
