Danielle Shapiro is a design historian, independent scholar, and author of John Vassos: Industrial Design for Modern Life (Spring 2016, University of Minnesota Press, http://amzn.com/0816693412), the first biography of John Vassos, a founder of the IDSA. She most recently served as senior program officer in the Division of Public Programs at the National Endowment for the Humanities and has been an exhibition asisitant at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum. She earned her PhD in art history and communications studies from McGill University.
