Ryan Eder, IDSA
Founder & CEO, IncludeFitness
Ryan Eder, IDSA, is founder & CEO of IncludeFitness, a digital health company providing fitness and rehabilitation technology to improve outcomes while lowering costs. He has more than 10 years of experience designing products in the sporting goods, medical, housewares, industrial and consumer electronics industries.
While attending the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning, he developed a senior thesis concept for an inclusive fitness platform, The Access Strength™, that was recognized with Gold, Best in Show and People’s Choice in IDSA's International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2007. Utilizing this recognition, Eder raised millions of dollars to expand his technology, build his company and transform the delivery of fitness and rehabilitation.
Almost ten years later, Eder won Best in Show, Gold and Design for Equality in IDEA 2016. Read more about his journey From Thesis to CEO (to IDEA) in INNOVATION magazine. “Winning IDEA fundamentally changed everything—everything,” Eder emphasizes. “That recognition opened doors to pursue the concept. Otherwise, it most likely would’ve just stayed a senior thesis. I used that validation to connect with others and build IF. As we continued to have success, the education I received with the opportunity to launch IF also has been career changing.”
Eder spoke at IDSA's International Design Conference 2016 in Detroit and at IDSA's Central District Design Conference 2017 at his alma mater.
