History:
Product Ventures was founded in 1994 by CEO Peter Clarke to be the “best in the world” design consultancy, dedicated to helping clients shape brands to enhance consumers’ lives.  Thoughtful and thorough in their approach, Product Ventures quickly proved itself to be an exceptional design consultancy and established relationships with Procter & Gamble and other global packaged goods companies.  Product Ventures soon became the industry leader in forging new processes and best practices with their consumer-informed, business-aligned methodology.

Designing packaging for the leading CPG companies provided the foundation for growth in all areas of the company, including doubling the staff each year over the next 3 years.  By 1998, PV became the first industrial design agency to include as their service offerings, engineer packaging for production. In 2000, the use of ethnographic research was added to the innovation process, as well as consumer research facilities.

By 2001, Product Ventures moved to a 10,000 sq. ft. design studio with expanded facilities and an in-house prototyping shop. In 2002, additional consumer research facilities were built to enable iterative design exploration. CNC and thermoforming machines enhanced prototyping capabilities in 2003.  The broad service offerings helped to diversify the client base and portfolio over the next few years.

In 2008, packaging engineering and commercialization services augmented PV’s technology sourcing and manufacturing assessment abilities.  Investments in R&D included the addition of state-of-the-art rapid prototyping equipment such as Stereo Lithography and Objet printing.  In 2010, a Creative Director, Strategic Branding was hired to build a robust graphics team to complement Product Ventures’ renowned structural design capabilities.

CEO Peter Clarke continues to be a sought-after packaging expert, a frequent keynote speaker at leading conferences and serves as a judge for many prestigious awards.  Called “the packaging design guru” by Brandweek Magazine, he is a regular contributor on Fox Business News, an expert design blogger for Fast Company and most recently was featured in the New York Times, “From Drumrolls to Designs.” 

Today the Product Ventures’ team, led by Clarke, consists of over forty inter-disciplinary experts in consumer research, graphic design, industrial design, mechanical & packaging engineering, and prototyping enable the creation of meaningful and memorable design solutions.
