PDMA Social Product Development and Co-Creation
The Conference on Social Product Development and Co-creation, is a groundbreaking event developed by the PDMA in partnership with co-creation pioneer, Local Motors, to bring together an unprecedented group of THINKERS, MAKERS and DOERS – quite literally, the “best of the best” – to help you understand and apply co-creative approaches that drive breakthrough results in product development and innovation.
As a lifelong product development professional and Past-President of the PDMA, I recognize the importance of staying at the forefront of valuable new concepts in the management of innovation. One such concept is Social Product Development, AKA Co-Creation, which is rapidly having a major impact on the way companies are innovating now and into the future. Often viewed narrowly as a way to get new product ideas from customers, many are now using co-creation to innovate their business
models and create new sources of value with their customers, suppliers, employees, and the communities or networks they operate in.
We’ve organized this conference around a series of topics designed to illustrate key themes and applications of co-creation that are having an impact on organizations of all shapes and sizes – providing real top-line, and bottom-line results.
• The Value of the Experience: Look at value creation in a new light - understand how value creation is changing and
how to capitalize on that change by learning key principles of co-creation that transform traditional products
into new mutually valuable experiences
• Creating Really Big Things: Experience first-hand how companies like Local Motors embrace social
product development to redefine traditional business models and design all aspects of their business –
not just product design
• The Maker Movement: Learn how to make niche products mainstream and empower customers
to create and build it themselves
• Customer Interactions: Build rich customer engagement strategies, involving the growth of
user-generated communities and networks in the design and development of products and
services that deliver value in new ways
• Thinking Social: Explore the power of social media to ignite collaboration among customers,
suppliers and communities – permanently changing the relationship between an organization
and its stakeholders
• Scalable Engagement Platforms: Find out how to companies design platforms to provide
places to connect with customers and other stakeholders – expanding opportunities for co-creative
engagement
Join us this June in Phoenix for this PDMA first that will likely not be the last. We’ve
designed it so you’ll be able to exchange ideas, forge new connections and fuel sustainable
innovation within your organization that drives growth. This is an event you can’t afford to miss!
Sincerely,
