IDSA x Google Event: Sexism in the Workplace Panel

Register now for the first IDSA x Google event—the “Sexism in the Workplace” panel—on Sept. 27 in Mountain View, CA. “I wish I’d known more as I was entering the workplace as a female industrial designer,” says IDSA San Francisco Chapter Chair and IDSA Women in Design Special Interest Section Vice Chair Ti Chang. “I wanted to connect with peers who understood what I was going through. I gave up on searching for female role models because I thought they didn't exist. But they do.”

Chang, VP of design at Crave, will be joined on the panel by other IDSA San Francisco officers—Vice Chair Sophie Cheam, IDSA, of Cocoon and panel moderator and chapter Co-Treasurer Chrissy Naples, IDSA, of Dolby—along with: Ivy Ross, VP design for hardware, Google and Nichole Roulliac, co-founder, level.

"Sexism in the workplace does exist. We're not going to pretend it doesn't exist," say organizers, who describe the panel's tone as a "warm discussion" and "intinmate conversation" that will not be recorded. "The goal is to begin to share stories among us because they are powerful to helping other women to know they are not alone."

"Being in the Bay Area with an exceptionally talent pool of designers, I was thrilled to meet so many outstanding women who have forged their paths in a male dominated industry," says Chang.
