iD Cards Now Available as an App

IDSA and Mark Evans, PhD, IDSA of the Loughborough Design School in the United Kingdom are very pleased to launch a smartphone app for the iD cards that previously were available only as a paper foldout.

If you attended an IDSA conference during the last couple of years, you’ve probably seen the iD cards. They provide a name, description and image for 32 design representations (grouped as sketches, drawings, models, prototypes), indicating when they are used and for what types of information. Evans devised the iD Cards concept and the new app following his supervision of a PhD that investigated barriers to communication during new product development and how these might be resolved.

Thousands of cards have been made available to IDSA members and the design community at large. The app now enables unlimited, on-demand distribution from iTunes and Google Play.
