IDSA Board of Directors Election 2018–2019

The Call for Nominations for the 2018-2019 term is now open through January 26, 2018.

Several opportunites are now available to current IDSA members who are looking to get involved and help shape the future of our Society. The benefits of volunterring in these high-profile leadership roles are many. Board of Director positions

Chair-Elect Education Director Section Director At-Large Director - Conferences

The Chair-Elect’s role is to prepare for tenure as Board Chair. The Chair-Elect automatically assumes the role of Board Chair after serving as Chair-Elect. This individual plays an active role on the Board and Executive Committee while preparing for the highest volunteer leadership position within IDSA.

The Education Director ensures members’ educational needs are met, by working with the Education Council and serving as its Chair through conferences such as the IDSA  Education Symposium, IDSA District Design Conferences and professional development offerings.

The Section Director promotes, monitors and nurtures sections and represents their interests on the Board of Directors. This role also cultivates opportunities for relationships among chapters, sections and educators.

Specifically for the 2018-2019 term, the At-Large Director will be given a conference-related portfolio. He/she will support the International Design Conference Task Force as it develops recommendations for growing the program. Additionally, responsibilities within the portfolio include helping to brand, differentiate and advance all IDSA conferences. This role is not expected to “Chair” or be the primary individual directly planning IDSA conferences.

District Chapter Representatives positions

District Chapter Representatives (DCR's)
District Chapter Representatives are responsible for working directly with the professional chapters and communities within their district. Each will focus on fostering the growth of chapters in their region, mentoring chapter officers, creating connections among chapters and engaging members who live "in between" chapters. The DCR's make up the Districts Committee, chaired by the Chapter Director.

Northeast, Central, West and Midwest District positions are open.
