Rotational Molding International Product Design Competition Open for Entry
The 2017 Rotational Molding International Product Design Competition is open for entry through May 1. “The goal of this annual contest is to inspire emerging industrial design students’ talent to create breakthrough consumer products that utilize the latest technologies in rotational molding,” says Fred Shockey, IDSA, chair and CEO of Winsell Incorporated.
Judging criteria includes: originality; process-ability; growth potential; beauty and visual appeal; tool building compatibility; category compliance; and use of appropriate Winsell materials. There’s a new twist this year. A new category has been added. Outdoor Living is defined as “enjoying an energizing and fulfilling outdoor life experience based on wholesome and healthy activities that build the relationships which are most important to us.”
No entry fee is required. First place earns $500; second, $250. Ten honorable mentions each will receive $150. The Rotational Molding Product Design Competition is organized by Winsell Inc., with support from 2017 sponsor Diversified Mold & Castings. Several IDSA student members were among last year’s winners.
