To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the World Design Organization (WDO)™ has launched the call for nominations for the World Design Medal, which recognizes industrial designers who have made a significant contribution to the advancement of the profession.
The 21st annual Rowena Reed Kostellow (RRK) Awardsceremony willl be held from 6 to 8pm on March 8, 2017 at Knoll showroom, 1330 Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan. The ceremony will be a fundraiser for student scholarships and a prize program. Register now; IDSA members receive a discount.
The 2017 Rotational Molding International Product Design Competition is open for entry through May 1. “The goal of this annual contest is to inspire emerging industrial design students’ talent to create breakthrough consumer products that utilize the latest technologies in rotational molding,” says Fred Shockey, IDSA, chair and CEO of Winsell Incorporated.
The latest Cradle to Cradle Product Design Challenge winning entries range from a solar furnace built from television parts—to camping gear that leaves no trace. C2C Innovation Institute President Lewis Perkins says it all “provides a clear means of translating the vision of a circular economy into reality.”
The IDSA Student Merit Award 2015 winner from the Midwest Design District has been invited to exhibit work he completed for his thesis at the Global Grad Show 2016, an international exhibition that is part of Dubai Design Week, Oct. 24 to 29.
