Sean Hägen, IDSA

Sean Hägen, IDSA, earned a bachelor of science degree in product design from The Ohio State University’s industrial design program with an emphasis on human factors engineering. Since founding BlackHägen Design in 1995, he has led medical design and usability research projects across 18 countries.
Hägen’s current focus at BH is in the management of the user research and insight translation phases of medical product development. He is an active contributor to the development of domestic and international usability standards. Hägen chaired the inaugural IDSA Medical Conference in 2014; serves as the IDSA Medical Special Interest Section Chair; and currently is Vice President of Sections on IDSA’s Board of Directors. He also leads the new IDSA Patient Safety Task Force.
