Jordan Maurice had the opportunity to be a part of Iowa State University's first class of industrial design students. This experience gave him a perspective on how classes are created and refined, along with the direct goals of industrial design courses. His education has been focused on research, sketching, mechanics, rapid prototyping and understanding design methodology. His focus has been in graphic and visual communications, including sketching, and verbal/visual presentations.

With these skills, he looks forward to sharing his experiences in the IDSA Student-Mentor program along with how he was successful or unsuccessful in projects. It benefited Maurice, as a student, to discuss projects with peers by allowing him to see how he could improve personally as a designer. Maurice is currently a student at Iowa State University, focusing in graphic and visual communication methods.
