John Kraljic

John Kraljic, IDSA | idk3inc

After graduating from Pratt Institute in 1984, John worked for several architectural and design firms before starting his own company in 1990. As founder and president of idk3inc, John has created innovative products in housewares, sporting goods, furniture, marine equipment and child safety products. His earlier works created visual displays for fashion designers such as Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren and Vera Wang. His unique designs solved many of their specific display requirements.

Other clients of idk3inc have included market leaders and trendsetters such as Nikon USA, Welch Allyn Medical, Shaq O’Neal, Rockport Shoes and Sotheby’s New York. His passion for industrial design is only rivaled by his enthusiasm for innovation, conception, ideation and the notion that “nothing is impossible”.

John travels extensively throughout Asia and Europe, widening his design philosophies and to oversee the manufacturing of his client’s products so as to assure them of the quality and deliverability they expect.

He joined the IDSA in 1993 so as to be a part of the “bigger picture” and to stay current with the latest trends and technologies in Industrial Design. John is also a member and Gold Medallion sponsor of the United Inventors Association (UIA) through which he has worked with many entrepreneurs and inventors to bring their products to market. John was issued a US patent for the, Draft-N-Clean, a drafting table attachment for the architectural industry.

John’s design of a lightweight carbon fiber boarding ramp for yachts was awarded innovative new product of the year (2002) by the National Marine Manufactures Association (NMMA).
