Fuseproject Wins a 2011 INDEX:Award for See Better to Learn Better
Fuseproject received an INDEX:Award for See Better to Learn Better in the body category. Since the launch of the program, 358,000 kids have received a free pair of eyeglasses in Mexico. By choosing their own color combinations, shapes and sizes, the kids are co-designing their future. The INDEX cash prize will allow fuseproject to continue to support their partners, nonprofit Verbien and champion manufacturer Augen of Mexico, as well as take the program to new places: from San Francisco to remote islands in Indonesia.
Four years ago fuseproject’s One Laptop Per Child won an INDEX:Award. They are the first team to receive the award twice.
INDEX: is a Danish-based, nonprofit organization that was established in 2002 and coined the concept “Design to Improve Life.” They work globally to promote and apply both design and design processes that have the capacity to improve the lives of people worldwide.
