Jill Hunt, IDSA | Women in Design Section Co-Chair | Medela, Inc

Jill Hunt is the Manager and Design Strategist for Medela’s Experience Design Group, a leading medical device company that provides the most technologically advanced, superior-quality breastpumps and breastfeeding accessories to nursing mothers around the world.

With over 15 years of experience, Jill brings user- centric design thinking skills to new business development and new product development within her organization. Passionate about supporting mothers and babies, Jill strives to close the gaps on unmet needs and develop highly innovative, unique concepts to the marketplace that take into consideration the human interaction and sensitive nature of the category.

Prior to joining Medela, Jill worked at Moen, Inc. as a Senior Designer.  While at Moen, she developed a new model for the bath safety equipment category using ethnographic research. The result of this is was the Home Care by Moen line; bringing improved safety, consumer visual brand language and dignity to the product category.

Jill has also worked for various design consultancies in and around the Chicago area including Joss Design, Herbst LaZar Bell and Beyond Design.

Jill has a BS in Industrial Design from the University of Cincinnati and recently completed a certificate in General Management from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

Jill’s work has earned her a Red Dot Award, IDEA, Good Design, JPMA Innovation Award, and Fit Pregnancy Editors’ Choice Award. Jill currently holds 23 design patents and 2 utility patents.

Jill is currently the co-chair of the Women in Design section for IDSA.
