IDSA Compensation Study

IDSA Compensation Study - 14th Edition

The 14th edition of IDSA's Compensation Study contains information on salaries and other cash compensation paid to industrial designers who work for various types of industrial design organizations, including data relating to organizations that maintain bonus plans, and how these bonuses are determined. The study also breaks down ratios of staffing at the levels of position, gender, race and age. This report also provides data on employer recommendations for collegiate study that will assist the prospective industrial designer in preparing for a career in industrial design.

The IDSA Compensation Study includes data solicited from organizations managing budgets starting at under $500,000 to over $40 million. It contains data from design group heads of office in all five IDSA geographic districts. It also provides valuable compensation information on consulting firms and in-house corporate design groups. The study provides averages and ranges for the base salary of 7 design positions and 14 support positions. In addition to base salary data, total cash compensation is reported for each position.

If you are interested in sponsoring this study, please contact Beth Harrington at 703.707.6000 ext. 104 or bethh@idsa.org.
