Fumi Watanabe

is a Creative Manager for Merchandise at Starbucks Coffee Company, and a founder of Seattle based Alkemi Design. Fumi is an art director, conceptual thinker and trend researcher in addition to being an artist with a background in both illustration and fine art. At Starbucks, Fumi led and collaborated on developing seasonal and core retail experience, as well as being responsible for global merchandise direction and design. She managed design for global consumer products and global in-store art in her previous role at the company. Fumi also designs GNU Pro snowboard graphics and IKEA decorations through Alkemi Design, and her portfolio includes Shins CD art, NIKE watch graphics, Scott Wilson for Surface Magazine, and Madison Park Greetings.
