Design for
Venture Sustainability
Workshop
February 2010
Having a well-designed product is only part of the process of success. You still need a sustainable business home. This 2 hour workshop led us through a set of thought provoking venture design exercises that addressed the critical aspects of entrepreneurship: value creation and capture, sustainable competitive advantage, and storytelling. After bringing product or service ideas, we collaboratively did rough designs for a ventures to deliver them. The Design for Venture Sustainability workshop was led by Dan O’Neill, Director of Entrepreneurship and Research Initiatives at ASU SkySong. Mr. O’Neill has taught, coached, mentored, or advised hundreds of early innovators and entrepreneurs from around the globe through classes, coaching, and workshops. In addition to deliving workshops at Stanford's design school, and teaching at ASU,
Mr. O’Neill co-founded and ran Hologix, an enterprise software company backed by $25 million of venture capital. Mr. O’Neill began his career as a Marketing Representative for IBM in 1980 after graduating from ASU with degree in Math and Computer Science.
