bebo

Designers: Michael Stefan Leoniak of Art Center College of Design

Client: Art Center College of Design

A seat that lets the user decide how to sit, bebo is a multi-level design solution. Inspired by an instrumental score of music, it offers a surface with many seating scenarios and pushes the envelope of fabric applied on complex surfaces, all while embodying the process of the designer. The synergy of form, color and the soft, tactile surface creates a heightened experience for the user and has continued to evoke excitement among those who try it.

"The bebo provides a wonderful, improvisational and playful physical interface for leisure seating. There is a beautiful and casual fusion of artistic, sculptural form and improvised function." -Ricardo Gomes, IDSA, San Francisco State University
