About the IDSA Sections
What Interests You?
Our profession crosses a wide array of markets, skillsets, areas of expertise and interests. IDSA's Professional Interest Sections provide information on the latest design trends, news and commentary in these different fields.
The Sections address each of IDSA’s Core Purposes:
- Community: Creating a vital and expanding local and global design network and community is critical in the industrial design profession and the Sections offer you access to that network.
- Education: Facilitating design quality through professional development and education assures the future of our profession and the Sections work with educators and students to develop new curricula for our students while providing continuing education to our professionals.
- Information: Sections play a key role in the collection and dissemination of information most relevant to the design profession and specific to that Section’s area of interest.
- Advocacy: By acting as “ambassadors” for the industrial design profession, the Sections promote the benefits, awareness and value of industrial design in business and society.
I encourage you to visit each Section's page or contact the chairs to find out about events, seminars, conferences or other activities and content that might intrest you. The Professional Interest Sections are one way for IDSA members to congregate, network and exchange information.
For additonal information about the Sections and how they function as part of Connexx, you can download The Story of Connexx.
