Charles Austen Angell, IDSA
I joined IDSA in 1983.
Since then, I’ve seen IDSA thrive, and I’ve seen IDSA struggle. When I was a student, top designers used to put IDSA on their business cards; now, many of the designers I knew early in my career aren’t even members.
Today IDSA is coming back, but it has a hell of a long way to go, and we need to accelerate the recovery by a factor of 100X. In the next two to three years, I want to see IDSA again become an icon in the design world. The current members are ready for it, the former members are ready for it, and future members are waiting for it.
We all want to see this organization thrive again—to be a major force, more future oriented, more exciting. This means being more relevant to the business and world community, more valuable to the design membership, and more process oriented in the execution of our mission. I have the background and experience to lead us there. Send me your ideas: Idsaproject@modernedge.com, and I’ll get you involved in the process. We can work together to get this rocket ship off the ground.
My name is Charles Austen Angell—you probably know me as Austen—and I appreciate your vote. Buckle up.
