After corresponding with IDSA, i was brought up to speed as to the correct Connexx procedures and how my last post was interpreted. In order to keep our members completely in the know, i have posted their response. Sorry for the mis-information.
PTC is finally taking a major cue from Rhino3d by now letting users download a free version for 30 days. This will let designers and engineers find out for themselves that Wildfire 3.0 is an incredible tool. It has always frustrated me to see industrial designers download Rhino and then years later they are huge Rhino fans, when they could have learned a program that is easier to take to production.
Machining of materials for medical applications has moved to a new level of precision. In parallel with this, moulding technology has improved through the increased use of sensors in moulds, enhanced design simulation and processes such as micromoulding. This article examines the opportunities offered by these developments and includes examples of mass produced parts that demonstrate the new capabilities useful to product designers.
