OXO Grind It Packaging

Credit: Smart Design

Client: OXO International

Using a well-communicated design with easy-to-understand language, OXO International created a compelling packaging system to introduce its new line Grind It. Because grinding dried herbs and spices is new to the American market, OXO's new line Grind IT needed to grab the buyer's attention and quickly explain the Grind IT system.

SpeedBlocksTM Head Immobilizer

Client: Laerdal Medical Corp.

The SpeedBlocks Head Immobilizer is an evolutionary innovative design for use by EMTs. It is a hybrid re-useable or disposable device that is pre-mounted to a backboard. Odak Skin-Care Products Packaging

Credit: ZIBA Design, Inc. and Odak Kozmetik Sanayi, Turkey

Client: Odak Kozmetik Sanayi, Turkey

The product packing design has a dreamy quality and the material shapes have an anxious language. Odak, a Turkish skin-care product manufacturer, used a flexible packaging system with shapes and colors of each product that were specifically designed to be flexible in marketing and instantly recognizable to the consumer.

SONOLINE Antares

An ultrasound machine by its nature is a complicated device, but Siemens' design has solved usability, mass and control reachability problems. The SONOLINE Antares is a medical ultrasound system used by sonographers and doctors. The Antares is half the size and half the cost as its predecessor with the same functionality.

"Every aspect of the SONOLINE Antares gives the impression that it was well-thought-out and carefully designed." - Stephen B. Wilcox, Ph.D., FIDSA

Intravenous Site Protector Dressing

Client: I.V. House, Inc.

A product that should have been designed long ago, I.V. House's innovative product brings a feasible and cost effective alternative to simply taping catheters to a patient's body to hold them in place. The Intravenous Site Protector Dressing helps prevent patients from picking at or pulling out their catheters. The design integrates a dressing wrap that offers comfort to the patient, and eliminates the used of tape over the traditional dressing.

sok OVERFLOWING BATH

Re-thinking the home spa soaking bath, Kohler uses a clean architectural language, instead of a plumbing language, to describe its sok Overflowing Bath. This great soaker tub uses an effervescence water recirculation system, rather than pummeling water jets, to soothe the body.

"The architectural simplicity of this soaking tub belies its advanced technological concept. Human comfort and convenience is paramount without looking like a therapeutic device." -Niels Diffrient, FIDSA
