The Gold award went to the Techniques Collection from Designtex, a new wallcovering collaboration with celebrated surface designer Carla Weisberg.
RoomWizard II is a digital scheduling system designed to maximize space resources. The device is wall-mounted next to a conference room, and ambient illumination of the room’s availability status is visible from afar. Room reservations and meeting times may be set up and managed on the device itself or remotely via the Web. The system’s database tracks space usage and reservation patterns company-wide to enable more efficient planning.

The core components of media:scape mini and media:scape mobile allow users to share and develop content in real-time to support team collaboration. The mobile version of media:scape can be placed on a freestanding console with wheels, while the media:scape mini can be placed on top of any surface to transform the space into a collaborative work environment.
The international manufacturer of office furniture, Steelcase, celebrates its centennial this year. They began in 1912 as The Metal Office Furniture Co. in Grand Rapids, MI. To mark the occasion, they created a cool short film about the future. On their Facebook page, they gathered 100 children from around the world and 100 brilliant minds from enterprise and asked them what the new century may look and feel like.
While most videoconferencing environments are formal meeting spaces with little emphasis on team collaboration, media:scape with HD videoconferencing encourages engagement and the exchange of information among all participants. It was designed to create a simple walk-up and connectexperience to help workers engage quickly, share information seamlessly and increase productivity.

The Steelcase node chair is a mobile and flexible chair for classrooms that transitions from one teaching mode to the next. Node was designed in response to a changing educational environment, where classrooms and classroom furniture need to respond to a more collaborative and active learning style. With node, a classroom can switch from a lecture-based mode to a team-based mode, and back again, without interruption.
