Catalyst Design Case Studies
Design is vital to all aspects of our daily lives. By bringing depth, clarity and transparency to the industrial design process, the Catalyst program reveals the power of design by recording the stories of the most successful design programs. These cases are meant to document the process and value that design offers to business. Cases are chosen by an independent review panel consisting of designers and business people.
Since 2002, the program has curated a series of deep drilling stories that capture data on design impact and show companies how design is fundamentally woven into business success.
“A large part of society is still unaware that design is responsible for many improvements in their daily lives,” said Catalyst Chair Ravi Sawhney, FIDSA. “From intelligent and ergonomic designs that let baby boomers live independently longer, to programs that encourage savings and sustainable designs that benefit the environment, design affects our every day lives.”
The Catalyst program consists of PDF stories of the selected design success cases as well as a narrated audio of each story. The program is required reading and audio entertainment for students, for professors and for any practicing designer who needs ideas on how to sell design to clients.
