IDEA Award winners receive significant international publicity and exposure. In contrast to many other design awards, most of the associated perks of winning an IDEA Award are free. As the sponsor, BusinessWeek magazine annually features selected winners in a July editorial report, which is distributed worldwide. All winners are also listed on BusinessWeek's Web site. Hundreds of newspapers and networks, including CNN, NBC, PBS, CNBC, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post and other design press around the world, pick up the IDEA story each year. In addition, IDSA's annual Yearbook of Industrial Design Excellence, featuring case studies written by the Gold winners, is distributed internationally to business executives, business schools, federal officials and designers.
