Portfolio Review Process at the Connecting ’07 Conference

The portfolio review during the Connecting ’07 Conference will take place from 3:45 – 5:00 on October 18 and 19 in the Stanford Court "Nob Hill Room".  The format will be an open review, with participants showing their work on individual tables while reviewers walk through the room looking at work and speaking directly with participants.

Those wishing to show their portfolio should arrive at approximately 3:30. There will be fifteen minutes available to find a table and arrange a display of work. Only those showing portfolios will be allowed in during the set up time.

At 3:45 the doors will open to allow all conference attendees in. Reviewers are encouraged to take their time looking at the work on display, and speaking directly with the participants about the work. Participants are also welcome to view the other work on display as much as possible.

Participants should stand near their table of work and be ready to present the work and discuss it with reviewers that show interest. An organized book of projects is recommended, along with some loose material that can be arranged on the table to peak the interest of reviewers. Laptop computers and other aides are always a good idea.

Participants should plan to show their work on both days if possible, as many of the conference attendees will not be able to get to the review on one or the other day. Participants should have a set of business cards available, or some other take-away (with contact information) that can be given to interested reviewers.
