Michelle Berryman
As current President of IDSA, Michelle is playing a vital role in making CONNECTING’07 successful. Throughout her career, she has focused on interaction design, applying her knowledge to exhibits, events, interiors, consumer products, user interfaces and corporate identity. She's the resident interaction design maven at Echo Vizualization, the design practice in Atlanta where she is a principal.

Eric Anderson
Eric is Executive Vice President of IDSA and President Elect. He is an Associate Professor of industrial design at Carnegie Melon University in Pittsburgh, teaching industrial design, production methods, and representation in traditional and new media.

Ed Dorsa
Ed is Education Vice President of IDSA and Chair of the International Education Symposium at CONNECTING’07. He oversaw the Education Council's review of abstracts and papers from around the world, and the selection of all the Education Symposium sessions. He is Associate Professor of Industrial design in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech.

Kit Hinrichs
The design of the identity and website for CONNECTING’07 was contributed by Kit Hinrichs and his team at the San Francisco location of Pentagram. Kit’s accumulated design experience incorporates a wide range of projects. At Pentagram he leads a graphic design team with expertise in corporate communications and promotion, packaging, editorial and exhibition design. He is also co-author of four books: Vegetables, Stars & Stripes, Long May She Wave and Typewise.

Joel Katzowitz
As Chair of Design Galleries and Environments, Joel is designing the layout for the exhibit spaces in the Masonic Center and Fairmont, as well as the installations that help us stay connected and find our way around. He heads the design team at Czarnowski in Atlanta, the exhibit service company that people look forward to working with.

Bill Moggridge
As Congress Chair, Bill started working on CONNECTING’07 in 2000, in order to prepare a bid to bring the event to San Francisco, proposed to Icsid at the 2001 Congress in Seoul, Korea. As well as developing the overall event and inviting other volunteers, he has assembled the program for the Masonic Auditorium. Bill is a cofounder of IDEO, designer of the first laptop, a pioneer of interaction design, and author of Designing Interactions.

Leslie Speer
As International Education Liaison, Leslie is responsible for two exhibits at CONNECTING ’07, Big Totem and Little Totem. The former features international collaborations between design schools, while the latter is an opportunity for students from around the world to exhibit individually. Leslie is an Assistant Professor at San Jose State University and Chair of the IDSA Design for the Majority Professional Interest Section.

Scott Underwood
Think of Scott whenever you hear some music during CONNECTING’07, as he probably chose it. He is seeking out the right sound for each occasion and inviting the live musicians. Scott works at IDEO in Palo Alto as ambassador, storyteller, cultural guide, historian, and coach across all its offices. His projects involve knowledge sharing, onboarding, training, and employee growth, and he manages a twice-weekly lecture series called Know How Talks.

Steve Wilcox
Steve is Chair of the Selection Committee for Professional Sessions. Over 150 proposals have been submitted in response to the call for presentations, so Steve is working to choose the best balance of these for an engaging and informative program. He is a pioneer in the field of design research and the founder of Design Science, located in Philadelphia. He was one of the first professionals to apply cultural anthropology as an effective product development tool.

Cooper Woodring, FIDSA
Cooper Woodring is the executive director of IDSA, and served as the Society's president during WORLDESIGN'85, the last Icsid/IDSA World Design Congress held in the US.  Woodring spent a majority of his career as manager of product design and new product development for $20 billion JCPenney Company in New York City, and later founded Better Mousetraps, Inc., a corporation to create intellectual property for equity income.  He serves as an expert witness in design patent litigation, and co-founded IDSA’s Design Protection Section.  He received IDSA’s Personal Recognition Award in 1992.

Larry Hoffer is IDSA’s chief operating officer.  He is responsible for the overall management of CONNECTING’07 from the staff perspective, ensuring the Congress truly lives up to its billing as the design event of a lifetime.
