2012 IDSA Western Design Dialogue Conference


		Jason Morris, IDSA As IDSA’s Western District VP, I am pleased to announce the upcoming Western Design Dialogue Conference, May 4-5 in Seattle. The theme for all five 2012 Design Dialogue Conferences is Evolving Design Practice. Our focus within that theme is Breaking Boundaries. Now for something completely different! Industrial designers are pushing across the boundaries of other disciplines, bringing their unique perspective, using creative thinking and user-centered approaches to solve various problems. Today, industrial design is influencing diverse areas, such as politics, interaction, music, film, fashion and business strategy. At this conference, we will explore how the role of industrial design is evolving and expanding by breaking through the traditional boundaries. The role of design is changing within many contexts, such as corporations, small firms and the community. We will hear from creative and inspiring individuals who are using design in unexpected places. These will not be the usual suspects. There will exceptional networking opportunities to connect with the Western US design community. Become part of the dialogue.
